What is Slope?
Slope is a measure of how steep a line is. It represents the ratio of vertical change (rise) to horizontal change (run) between two points on a line. In mathematics, slope is typically denoted by 'm'.
Interpreting Slope
Positive: When slope is positive (m > 0), the line goes upward from left to right, indicating an increasing trend.
Negative: When slope is negative (m < 0), the line goes downward from left to right, indicating a decreasing trend.
Zero: When slope is zero (m = 0), the line is horizontal and has no vertical change.
Undefined: When the denominator is zero (vertical line), the slope is undefined because we cannot divide by zero.
